According to KCRA-TV out of Sacramento, a 14-year-old California Little Leaguer has been sued by his former coach for throwing his helmet in celebration at the end of a game and injuring him.

The player was on 2nd base when a teammate knocked him in for the winning run.  As he headed home, he threw his helmet off in celebration – something he has likely seen many of his favorite players do countless times – and the helmet struck and tore the coach’s Achilles tendon. Now I know many of you may be asking, “How did the helmet striking the coach tear his achilles tendon?” The answer to this question remains a mystery.

The coach, Alan Beck, is suing the child and Little League Baseball for $500,000 for pain and suffering, plus another $100,000 in lost wages and medical bills.

I don’t even know where to start.  First of all, how soft is this coach that a 14-year-old caused half a million dollars in pain and suffering?  Second, how strong is this kid where he was able to throw it so hard that it caused that much damage?  If he didn’t throw it hard, and just lobbed it high in the air, refer back to my first question – how soft is this coach?

The Little League creed is “Character, Courage, Loyalty”.  Is this coach showing any of the three?
