Now that her career is over, Aralyse can reflect on what was a successful era of Pembroke Girls Basketball. Here is her profile:

Aralyse Johnson – Pembroke High School – Girls Basketball

5’8″ – Senior

Career Highlight #1 – “Being the leading rebounder for Pembroke Girls Basketball.”
Career Highlight #2 – “Being the third all-time leading scorer for Pembroke Girls Basketball.”
Career Highlight #3 – “Section V Tournament All Tournament team during my tenth grade year.”

Favorite thing about High School Sports: “Being part of a team and getting to know people from other schools through basketball.”

Most memorable moment in High School Sports career: “Getting a double charge with my sister Breanna when she was a senior and I was a sophomore.”

Plans after High School: “Attend college in Rhode Island pursing a career in business and a possible concentration in fashion.”

AB: As the lone member of the 600-600 club, what does that mean to you?

AJ: Being a member of the 600-600 club makes me feel really accomplished, especially because I just started playing basketball in 8th grade. If you told me I was gonna get 600 points and 600 rebounds during my senior year when I was in 7th grade wearing my tap shoes I never would have believed you.

AB: Although you didn’t go all the way this season, your team still found plenty of success. Did you accomplish all you set out to as a team, or do you feel you fell short of your goals?

AJ: As a team we accomplished a lot of the goals we set out for, but not all of them. Obviously we hoped to go further in Sectionals, but we earned a winning record which we pushed for since the beginning of the season.

AB: Going forward, what do you feel is to come from the younger players as they progress one more year into their high school career?

AJ: I have nothing but confidence in the younger girls that will lead the team next year. I know they’ll continue to stay positive and work hard in practice and they all know their hard work will pay off in the end.

AB: What did you do to help the younger players progress to where they are now?

AJ: I’ve helped the younger girls as much as I could throughout practices and games. I’ve talked to many of them and told them what they did good and what they should focus on improving for the next game or practice.  They’ve all grown so much throughout the years and I’m so glad I was able to be apart of their growth.

AB: Finally, when you look back on your time spent at Pembroke, what will you remember most?

AJ: What I’m going to remember most is definitely the teams I was apart of and the coaches that helped make me into the person and player that I am today.

Looking back on it, Aralyse certainly accomplished more than your average high school basketball player.
