Tonight, the Batavia Lions Club Boys Basketball Tournament Finals will take place, as Batavia and Notre Dame will meet on the hardwood at GCC for the second-straight season. Here is a brief preview of tonight’s game:
Notre Dame (7-0) vs Batavia (4-2) – 8:00 pm
Steve Gilebarto – Since the departure of Batavia’s leading scorer, Steve has stepped in admirably and provided his team with added offense – which they have desperately needed.
Antwan Odom – Antwan has missed some time this year, but if he hits his stride, he could begin to perform as one of the top-players throughout Section V.
Mason McFollins – Mason missed the first several games for the Blue Devils this year, but in his return last week scored 20 points – including 6 three-pointers. On Wednesday in the first round, he dropped 31 including 7 three’s.
Ryan Moffat – Moffat missed the beginning of the season due to an injury, but since returning to the lineup has scored in double-digits in each of the contests in which he has participated. In Round 1, he scored 26 points.
Nico Zambito – Nico can effect the game both inside, and outside, and will be another tough stop for the Lancers defense.
This is a rematch of last year’s Title game, which Batavia won by a wide margin. This season, the two teams are much closer in terms of their overall expectations, which should make for a better game tonight. I expect this one to be much more competitive than last year’s Batavia Lions Club Tournament Finals.
Batavia 75 Notre Dame 64
