On Wednesday night at Genesee Community College the Batavia and Notre Dame Girls Basketball teams were able to advance to the final round rather handily, defeating Cal-Mum and Attica respectively.

In Notre Dame’s victory over the Blue Devils, a game which started 4-2 Attica, the Irish used a dominant second quarter in order to open up a big lead. Facing such a large deficit going into the second half, the Blue Devils simply did not have enough to overcome their disadvantage, eventually falling 45-30.

For Batavia, in their win over the gritty Cal-Mum Lady Raiders, although the score was tied or close to it for much of the first half, the Blue Devils defended very well during the second half which allowed them to gain a sizable advantage heading into the fourth quarter. However, when all things were going swimmingly for the Devils, star guard Madison McCulley was forced out late in the contest due to a severe knee injury, which we are hoping isn’t as bad as it looked. In any event, the Devils went on to win the game 50-31 without McCulley, and they will likely have to face ND in the finals without her as well.

The Championship game between the Irish and Lady Devils will take place tomorrow night at around 7:30 pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
