We are now less than a week away from the first High School Football game of the season, and today I am ready to reveal my 2017 HS Football Preseason Power Rankings – which is a list of the top teams within my coverage area:

1. Batavia

Batavia RB Ray Leach is my reigning HS Football MVP, and will likely lead Batavia to great heights this season.

2. Cal-Mum/Byron-Bergen

The Red Raiders are a much-improved squad which faces a much lighter schedule in 2017.

3. Attica

Attica enters 2017 with a new head coach, and a new quarterback, but I believe they have what it takes to reclaim the League Title this season.

4. Alexander

There are a lot of moving parts on the Trojans’ roster, but I really liked what I saw from the team during Scrimmage Day. Look for this group, full of new faces, to continue the great gridiron tradition which has been revived in Alexander.

5. Pembroke

Reid Miano is entering his third season as the Dragons’ starting quarterback, which also happens to be his senior season at Pembroke. This is the year that, behind returning GR leading rusher Zach von Kramer, the Dragons’ QB will help lead his team to a successful season.

6. York/Pavilion

The Golden Knights have great size along the line of scrimmage this year, which I believe will be their strength during what I anticipate will be a rebound season for York/Pavilion.

7. Le Roy

Le Roy has plenty to replace from last season, but they, like C-M/B-B, have a lighter schedule this year and may find more success in 2017.

8. Notre Dame

The Irish have a lot to prove this season, however, they have experience at the quarterback position and will have a good chance to advance in my Power Rankings.

9. Holley

Although I was truly impressed by Holley during my visit on the 2017 HS Football Training Camp Tour, they will have to prove themselves to me on the field in order to earn my confidence.

10. Oakfield/Elba

Oakfield/Elba is a growing program which may continue to experience growing pains in 2017. If they happen to outperform my expectations, it will be due to their experience at quarterback, and on defense.
