Monday was a day meant for reinvigoration for the Blue Devils players and coaching staff, but that didn’t stop new quarterback Chandler Baker, highly regarded RB Ray Leach, dominant DL Butch Ray, along with many others, from lighting up the practice field.

Although the Devils enter 2017 with a boatload of expectations, which have been built by three-straight sectional titles, they were simply having fun out there yesterday – and seemed glad to be back between the lines.

Perhaps the most-exciting action of the day came during a post-practice activity.

Following practice I caught up with the four Batavia captains, along with Devils head coach Brennan Briggs – all of which seemed incredibly confident in the team’s ability to carry on the tradition of success which the program has rebuilt in recent years.

: Batavia is hanging on to the #1 spot in the rankings, but if they are to rise amongst the Section V ranks – they must perform better moving forward as they approach playoff time.
