The process of delivering the 2018 Batavia’s Best Spring Sports Awards has begun!

Starting today, we will now be accepting nominations for those who you believe are worthy of recognition in the following categories:

 

Boys Spring Athlete of the Year – Top boys athlete from the spring season

Girls Spring Athlete of the Year – Top girls athlete from the spring season

Boys Spring Underclassman of the Year – Top boys sophomore or freshman during the spring sports season

Girls Spring Underclasswoman of the Year – Top girls sophomore or freshman during the spring sports season

Boys Spring Coach of the Year – Top boys coach during the spring sports season

Girls Spring Coach of the Year – Top girls coach during the spring sports season

The Diamond Dinger Award – Top hitter in all of HS Baseball

King of the Hill – Top pitcher in all of HS Baseball

The Hallmark Hands Award – Top fielder in all of HS Baseball

The Silver Swinger Award – Top hitter in all of HS Softball

Queen of the Circle – Top pitcher in all of HS Softball

The Titanium Tee Award – Top golfer during the spring season

The Ruby Racket Award – Top tennis player during the spring season

Boys #TrackNation Award – Top boys Track and Field Athlete during the spring season

Girls #TrackNation Award – Top girls Track and Field Athlete during the spring season

All-Batavia’s Best Teams – Top athletes in each sport during the spring season

  1. Bryce Yockel, Sophomore at Byron Bergen for Underclassman of the Year for Track. Leading scorer on Byron Bergen’s boys track team. He received most improved field athlete at the Byron Bergen Track Banquet on 6/11/18.

    Paul McDermott or Justin Hannon for Track Nation Award. Both went undefeated this spring

  7. Lindsey Clar, sophomore track sensation from wheatland-chili: (multiple awards)

    1. Girls Spring Athlete of the year
    2. Girls Spring Underclasswomen of the year
    3. Girls #tracknationaward
    4. All batavia’s best team

    Two time Section V Class C Sectional winner this spring in the 1500 meter and 3000m, with times of 5:02 and 11:01 respectively. (Her third year in a row winning the 3000m at the sectional champions meet). Also won both events the weekend before in the Genesee Region Champion Meet (GRs), crowning her the top female distance runner in both the Gensee Region and Section V Class C groups. Additionally, after winning sectionals, she advanced to the state qualifier meet where she was awarded the “Section V Devin Snyder Memorial Award of 2018” which named her officially as the “Outstanding Track Female Athlete of Class C.”

    Top tennis athletes this spring- Brandon Waite (OA), Nick Baumler (OA), Erik Maier (OA) – all 3 selected as GR Tennis All Stars

    Boys spring coach of the year- Peter Beuler (OAE) led OAE boys track and field to another Sectional Championship this year

    Boys Track Nation Award- Ryan Douglas (OAE)
    Girls Track Nation Award- Shelby Carlsen (OAE)

    Boys Spring Athlete of the Year- Ryan Douglas (OAE)

    Boys Underclassmen Award- Zach Hall (freshman, OAE Track)
