Bryan had one heck of a career as a member of the Notre Dame Hockey team – capped off with his second sectional patch. Here is his profile:

AB: You spent many years as a member of the ND Hockey team. Now that it’s over, looking back, what do you remember most, or most fondly?

BM: Looking back at all the years of playing Notre Dame hockey, getting up for morning practices and being the only player in school history to hoist two high school hockey sectional trophies are some memories I won’t soon forget. But above everything else, I think all the laughs that I have had with the team are the most memorable.

AB: When the season began, did you and your teammates view the sectional title as an obtainable goal?

BM: We believed that we had a really good chance at making it to sectionals and make a deep push. We didn’t know how strong other teams were, but we were confident in ourselves that we had the right players and chemistry to take the team far.

AB: If so, did you strive for more, or did your sights stop at the sectional title?

BM: The team knew it was going to be a tough journey, but we had our eyes on not only being the first team from Notre Dame to make it to states, but winning a state title. We looked to sectionals as being the cake, and states being the frosting, and we wanted both.

AB: Moving forward, there are several young guys that will return next season. Do you believe the ND Hockey program is still on the rise, even with the loads of success you experienced this season?

BM: Every year we tried to be the best that we could. This year we won sectionals, but I think the hockey program is going to have lot more success as they shot for a state title. I think that with all the experience the younger players had this year, they should be back next year in full force. Looking at the this years junior class, I know will be leaving my leadership roll in good hand with them.

AB: Finally, what will you miss most about playing with your teammates?

BM: I am going to miss being able to joke around with them but always know that they always had my back with everything. It seems cliché, but I think the early morning practices really brought us closer together and made us more brothers then teammates. We could be fighting with each other off the ice, but the moment we stepped on the ice, it was as if that was all forgot, we played together as one unit and fought together as a band of brothers.

Bryan’s contributions to the ND program will not be soon forgotten, I’m sure.
