It’s Official, the Buffalo Bills have decided to enter into a ‘New Era’ by renaming their stadium ‘New Era Field’ after sponsor New Era Cap Company.

The new name comes as a result of an announcement earlier this week that the two sides had indeed recached an agreement on a stadium rights deal, and all that was left was finding out what name would take the place of the Bills former owner, Ralph Wilson Jr – whose name previously graced the back of the scoreboard in the north end zone.

This is a good move for the Bills, in a time where all teams in all sports are looking to suck every last cent out of sponsorship revenue and ad dollars, it would have been irresponsible for Buffalo not to do the same. Yeah, I loved Ralph Wilson as well, and all he did for the Bills. But in order to progress as a franchise steps like these will need to be taken over the next several years – until the Bills finally get a new stadium (which is happening people, get over it).
