Weeks after scoring his 1,000th career point on the basketball court, Byron-Bergen’s Brandon Burke took to the track this past weekend and jumped his way to a tie for seventh place finish in the High Jump at the New Balance Nationals @ The Armory in NYC.

Burke, who leapt 6’10” during last year’s outdoor track season in order to qualify for this past weekend’s event, finished the HJ Championship on Saturday with a jump of 6’7″ – which is astounding considering he has been participating throughout the winter season as a basketball player. The top-finisher at this past weekend’s National meet leaped 7’00.25″ – just ahead of Burke’s pace which he set a season ago.

I’m looking forward to great things from Brandon coming up this spring.

  1. Alex, thanks for this on Brandon. He should be going back to New Balance Outdoors again. Really wants to get on the podium as a top 6 finisher
