Despite being behind at times during the third quarter on Saturday afternoon, the Cal-Mum Girls Basketball team overcame a gritty Notre Dame squad by a final score of 44-35. The Raiders used a big fourth quarter in order to pull away from the their opponent late, as they outscored the Irish 19-11 over the last 8:00 of the game.
Jess Garland scored all 7 of her points for the victors during that stretch – including a three pointer which increased her team’s lead to 7. In addition, she also recorded 8 rebounds for the Red Raiders. Overall throughout the game, Gill Flint sparked C-M, scoring 16 points to go with 10 boards and 5 assists.
For Notre Dame Becca Krenzer scored a game-high 21 points, while Callie McCulley dropped 8 to go with 5 rebounds.
Cal-Mum will play Letchworth in the semis.
