The Cal-Mum Softball team came away with a big win yesterday, defeating 2016 State Rep Bath-Haverling on a walk-off – by the final score of 2-1.

Behind 1-0 going into the bottom of the seventh, the Raiders were able to forge a miniature rally which began with an Andrea Coyle infield single. Following Coyle’s single, Hannah Wade then roped a triple for C-M, which scored Coyle and tied the game. During the same play, though, the relay throw to third was mishandled by the Bath-Haverling cut-off man, which subsequently allowed Wade to score from third – which won the game for Cal-Mum.

Aside from Wade and Coyle, Hannah Rubinrott also played a major role for the Raiders in their important win, keeping her team within striking distance by hurling a 1-run complete game which included 4 strikeouts. For Bath in the loss, Makayla Brzezinski pitched a good game despite the loss, allowing just 4 hits while striking out 9.

With the win, Cal-Mum is now 6-0 heading into today’s Le Roy Tournament – which has been moved to Cal-Mum HS due to  a wet surface at LR. First round is scheduled for 11:00 am, while the Championship game will be played at 1:00 pm.
