Here is my 2016 Season Preview for the Cal-Mum Volleyball Team:

———-

cal-mum vs geneseo volleyball seth graham 8Head Coach:
Dave Tytler

Last Season’s Record: 19-4 (Won Section V Class D2 Championship)

Key Players: Andrea Coyle (2015 Section V D2 Tournament MVP), Kara Kingsbury(2015 Section V D2 Tournament All-Star), Izzy Slocum (set school record for blocks [66] in a season last year), Sami Bickford (93 kills and 36 blocks last year), Cierra Wells (is coming off an undefeated season on JV), Katie Harmon (had a very good club season and is ready to step in and help the offense), Seniors Cam Guldenschuh & Brittany Rehberg (along with Kingsbury will help anchor our “Lollipop Guild” Defense)

Key Opponents: The Raiders play Le Roy, the class of their league, twice this year and expect both of those contests to be a measuring stick for them. They also have Warsaw, Avon, and Letchworth in their division and any one of those teams have a chance to win the crown – per coach Tytler.

Season Outlook: Wells has big shoes to fill replacing Chelsea Riggi who graduated and left with the career and single season assist record last year, but according to her head coach, is up to the task. “We have a lot of offensive weapons at her disposal and Andrea Coyle has come back this season stronger than ever,” said Tytler. “If we stay focused and work hard each match I expect us to be competitive in our league and at sectional time.”
