Elba Softball the lone local team to win Section V Crossover game; Lyndonville, Le Roy Baseball both lose

Here are scores and stats from last night’s Section V Crossover action. Four local baseball and softball squads competed, with Elba Softball being the lone local who will move on to the next round:

 

Section V Class D Softball Crossover – Elba (D2) 2 Lyndonville (D1) 1 | FINAL

-Carli Bogue earned the win inside the circle for Elba, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 12

-Tatiana Draper, Lauren Engle, and Emily Reynolds led the way at the plate for the Lancers

-Anna Lewis (solo homer) was the lone bright spot for Lyndonville

-Elba now advances to the State Tournament, where they will start things off with North Collins this coming Saturday at 6:00 pm in Dunkirk

Section V Class C Baseball Crossover – Avon (C2) 6 Le Roy (C1) 1 | FINAL

-Padraig Coyle allowed 4 hits and struck out 6 in the win for Avon. He improved to 7-0 on the season, while Le Roy’s Tim McMullen was hit with the loss

Section V Class D Baseball Crossover – Lima Christian (D2) 6 Lyndonville (D1) 5 | FINAL

-Lyndonville was ahead 5-4 going into the seventh inning, but an RBI double from LC gave them the win in the top half of the frame

-Lyndonville loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh, but failed to score
