Elba’ Ben Pflaumer had a day to remember yesterday at Penfield Country Club, finishing first out of sixteen golfers in order to win the Section V Class C Individual Golf Championship. Pflaumer fired a low-round of 90 on the day on a course which was set up to play rather difficult.

In second place at PCC was Cody Penders, who shot a round of 93, while Pflaumer’s brother Henry finished in a tie for third with a score of 96 (tied with Bobb Geoerlich of Romulus).

“Ben and Henry both shot very well on a challenging course,” said Lancers’ head coach Mike Cintorino on Saturday. “Although the scores seemed high, Penfield Country Club proved to be a tough test for all Class C and Class B golfers today.”

“Ben has been very consistent throughout the year,” added Cintorino of his first place pupil. “Averaging a 39.2 during league play, and earning Medalist honors 7 times out of our 11 matches. I couldn’t be more proud of Ben, and our team, for what they’ve been able to accomplish this season.”
