Behind 4-0 in the third inning of yesterday’s Class A2 Semifinals vs Wayne, the Batavia Softball team was facing elimination for the first time this postseason. However, the Devils managed to work their way back from the early-deficit, score 4 in the third, 1 in the fourth, and 9 in the fifth – and pushed past the Eagles by a final score of 14-4.

The big blows for BHS came off the bats of Maiya Reinhart and Katie Wiseley during the offensive onslaught – as both hit mammoth home runs to increase their team’s chances. They each finished with 4 RBI, while Taylor Stefaniak continued her torrid pace with a 2/3 night, and Alaina Bowman chipped in 2 hits herself.

Going the distance in the circle for Batavia was Rebecca Myers – who absorbed a tough start and limited Wayne throughout the second half of a big win for her team.

With the win, Batavia advances to face Pittsford Sutherland this morning at 11:00 am at SUNY Brockport. Stay tuned @BataviasBestHS on Twitter for Game Preview, and updates from the action.
