Last night at Aquinas, Tiara Filbert had things going for the Batavia Girls Basketball team. Recording 24 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists, and 7 steals – her performance was enough to not only win the game for the Devils 68-64, but it was also enough to earn Batavia’s Best of the Night honors.

Since an injury to Batavia’s other top-player Madison McCulley which came during the Batavia Rotary Tournament, Filbert, along with the other members of this Batavia squad, seem to have ratcheted up their game to another level. For example, in addition to the standout senior’s all-around performance vs the Lil’ Irish, three other Batavia players were in double-figures as Ryann Stefaniak added 18, and Taylor Stefaniak and Sam Cecere each scored 13 as well.

All in all, things have gone extremely well for the Devils as of late considering the circumstances, and if they continue to rally around their fallen teammate the way that they have in recent weeks, they will undoubtedly have a chance to reach their goals at the end of the season.
