Final Section V Wrestling Rankings: A few local teams and individuals make the list

The Final Section V Wrestling Rankings were released today, with several local individuals, and a few local teams making the list. While Holley (HM) and Byron-Bergen (7th) were both ranked as dual meet teams, 17 wrestlers were also recognized.

Beginning at 99 lbs, Andrew Englerth from Le Roy was awarded Honorable Mention behind seven other wrestlers within his weight class. At 113 lbs, Alexander’s Nick Young finished the regular year as the 2nd overall wrestler within his class, just behind Matt Caccamise from Wayne. Three local grapplers were recognized at 120 lbs, as Dane Heberlein from Alexander earned the top spot at his weight, while Jon Lauricella from Le Roy and Jeffrey Gress from Lyndonville each earned Honorable Mention.

Moving up to 126 lbs, Nick Gaiser from Alexander was the third trojan within the top-2 at his respective weight, as Nick finished the season as the #2 projected wrestler. Dylan Walker was also awarded Honorable Mention at 126. At 138 lbs, Dustin Joy from Lyndonville was given Honorable Mention, while Jeremy Boyle from Batavia and Anthony Miraglia each were given an HM as well.

At 145 lbs, Damian Marchetti from Attica completed the year as the #3 wrestler, while teammate Mason Compton earned Honorable Mention at 152 – as did Tom Follman from Lyndonville. At 170 lbs Matt Gaiser from Alexander was also given Honorable Mention.

Finally, at 220 lbs Byron-Bergen’s Adam Walter finished as the #3 wrestler, and Brendan Marsocci from B-B was given HM at 285.
