Here is my second edition of Power Rankings for the 2017-2018 local HS Girls Basketball season.

1. Wheatland-Chili (+2)

.The Wildcats beat Oakfield last night, and also defeated Elba earlier this year. Despite losses to Notre Dame, and Cal-Mum, Wheatland’s signature wins outweigh their tough defeats.

2. Elba (+2)

The Lancers fell to Wheatland earlier this year, but later picked up wins over Oakfield and Notre Dame. Elba will have another shot at the Wildcats later this season.

3. Oakfield (-2)

Oakfield’s undefeated streak recently came to an end with two-straight losses, to Elba, then Wheatland. They did defeat Notre Dame prior to their two-game skid, however. The Hornets must get back on track to end this week.

4. Notre Dame (-2)

The Irish did beat Wheatland-Chili earlier in the year, but have lost to Elba, and Oakfield. The Irish will have another chance to move up in the rankings when they play Wheatland in a few weeks, then Elba to end the year.

5. Cal-Mum

Cal-Mum has endured a roller coaster of a season but remain as number six in my rankings.

6. Batavia

Batavia fell to Cal-Mum in the Rotary Tournament, but defeated Attica in the consolation game. Coming off of two-straight losses to Monroe County League competition, the Devils need to return to their winning ways.

7. Attica

The Devils have lost five games in a row, but have a string of winnable games coming up. I still believe Attica is worthy of a spot in the top-half of my rankings.

8. Pembroke

Pembroke recorded a big win over Byron-Bergen earlier this year, but have yet to post another signature win. They also lost to Pavilion a few games back. The Dragons have games against Elba, Oakfield, and Wheatland-Chili coming up, before finishing the year with Bergen, Attica, and Alexander.

9. Byron-Bergen

The Bees have been playing good basketball as of late, with recent wins over Le Roy and Greece Odyssey. Their win streak currently sits at 7, but they have games against Notre Dame, Elba, and Attica coming up. We will see where they stand after those tough matchups.

10. Le Roy

Le Roy has games coming up against Letchworth, and Byron-Bergen. Knights need to beat the Bees if they’re hoping for an uptick in the rankings.

11. Pavilion

Pavilion beat Pembroke a few weeks ago, but have also lost to Le Roy – who fell to Byron-Bergen. This makes things mighty cloudy in the middle of my rankings.

12. Alexander (+1)

Alexander recently posted a win over Lyndonville, which was the Trojans first win since the beginning of the season.

13. Lyndonville (-1)

Lyndonville recently fell to Alexander, but did defeat Holley and Womans Prep prior to that loss.

14. Holley

Holley is winless this season.
