Alexander
MVP: Tristan Aldinger
Key Players: Jake Wozniak, Tyler Laird, Derrick Busch, Sam Browne, Zack Shilvock, Jared Browne
Key Moment: The key moment in Alexander’s season was when they dropped Elba in a lopsided contest. The victory ensured a playoff appearance for the Trojans, who would go on to eventually fall to Avon in the semis.
Next Season Outlook: With many important players being lost this season to graduation, the Trojans will really have to improve on the run heading into 2015. After a great year, hopefully they can continue the momentum going throughout the entire program.
Attica
MVP: Jake Strzelec
Key Players: Phil Wilshire, Levi Snyder, Derek Walker, Damien Marchetti, Alex Piechocki
Key Moment: Attica’s key moment of the season was when they defeated Oakfield in the final week of the season. With the victory, the Blue Devils completed an undefeated regular season.
Next Season Outlook: As 2014 comes to a close, Attica will lose several key players, but will retain a few as well. With many key contributors returning next year, look for the Blue Devils to continue to compete for the GR Title.
Elba
MVP: Steele Truax
Key Players: Mike Shanley, John Hochmuth, Garrett Chapell, Richard Flores, Andrew Gottler, Hunter Taylor, Adam Walter
Key Moment: The key moment for the Lancers was their 7-6 victory over the high-powered Oakfield offense. It was a great team win for Elba, who went on to earn a postseason berth.
Next Season Outlook: With a few key losses, the Lancers will have to pick up the pieces and take what they can into 2015. They do have a few key returners, but will need to improve offensively if they hope to contend for the GR Title.
Notre Dame
MVP: Joe Zickl
Key Players: Josh Johnson, CJ Suozzi, Jack Sutherland, Peter Daversa, Casey Midwick, Spencer Misiak
Key Moment: ND’s key moment this season was without a doubt their win over Elba. Although the Irish missed the playoffs, it was a huge win for them as a group and propelled them into a great finish to the year.
Next Season Outlook: After being very young this year, the Irish should be much improved going into 2015. Hopefully for them, they can get improved play from their offensive unit.
Oakfield
MVP: Allen Chatt
Key Players: Jon Harris, Reice Woodward, Ryan Emery, Sal Schhwable, Trent Stack
Key Moment: OA’s key moment this year was their comeback win over CG Finney in the Connors and Ferris Bowl. Down by a lot at one point, the Hornets rallied and walked away with a satisfying win.
Next Season Outlook: The only team to have their MVP returning for the 2015 season, look for OA to make some noise within the division and beyond. With one more year of experience under their belt, I bet we see big things from them.
Pembroke
MVP: Cal Neurohr
Key Players: Mitch Lewter, Dakota Swimline, Bryce Dibble
Key Moment: The key moment for Pembroke came in Week 1, when they took an early lead on Elba by way of a touchdown.
Next Season Outlook: Held without a win during 2014, their is only one way to go for the Pembroke Program – up.
