Henry is undoubtedly one of the most impressive junior boys basketball players within the GR League this season. However, with work left to be done, expect the Lancers guard to continue to push himself and his teammates for the remainder of this season.

Henry Pflaumer – Elba High School – Boys Basketball

5’10” – 150 lbs – Junior

Career Highlight #1 – “Earning the #1 seed in our class.”
Career Highlight #2 – “Breaking the school record for three-pointers in a single game.”
Career Highlight #3 – “Has not yet been accomplished.”

Favorite thing about High School Sports: “My favorite thing about HS Sports is the competitiveness throughout the GR League.”

Most memorable moment in High School Sports career: “Definitely has to be beating Notre Dame in their own gym for the first time in 10 years.”

Plans after High School: “Go to college for some sort of engineering and hopefully play sports.”

AB: Through your HS Sports career, you have found success in golf as well as basketball. What has been the driving force behind your success in both sports?

HP: It’s really been all of the support I have gotten from friends and family – especially my dad. Because he has always pushed me and helps me do my best in both sports.

AB: Golf and basketball are two very different sports from the way I see it. Do you see it that way too? Or do you see any similarities between the two?

HP: I see both similarities and differences. Basketball is obviously a lot more physical, yet both are very competitive.

AB: What are some of the things that gave you the urge to play both sports? In other words, what made you interested in basketball, and what made you interested in golf?

HP: I started basketball when I was young because my dad was coaching modified boys at Elba, which allowed me gym time and made me interested in the sport. I got into golf because my family owns Plum Creek Driving Range which always allowed me to work on my game.

AB: Do you think you will remain interested in both sports even after high school?

HP: I would like to continue both sports after high school. I’d be interesting in playing either one in college if given the chance.

AB: Finally, as it stands right now, when you look back on your HS career after next season, what will you like to remember most about playing each sport?

HP: For basketball, my favorite memory has to be breaking the Elba three-point record in a single game. And for golf, I’d have to say the fun bus rides and practices are the most memorable.
