Here is a brief preview of the 2018 Holley Hawks Football team:
Last Season’s Record: 4-5
Holley lost a lot from their 2017 team which finished respectably in the GRAA/LCAA last season. This year, with a lot of new faces filling new roles, and a switch to eight-man football ahead of them, the Hawks will have to learn on the fly.
I expect a capable backfield to lead the Hawks offensively, while defense will likely be their strength in 2018.
Jacob Affronti (Sophomore RB/LB) – Jake rushed for 500 yards and six touchdowns last year and was also a strong player for the Hawks’ defense. He will be vital to the team’s success this year.
Dalton Moyer (Senior FB/LB) – Dalton suffered a season-ending injury last year but is back to anchor the defense from his middle linebacker position. He will also be the battering ram in the backfield as the team’s fullback.
Jamel Hildreth (Junior WR/DB) – Jamel is an elite athlete and hopes to bring a bit of ‘lightning’ to the Hawks’ backfield, and wide receiver position. He also is one of the team’s top-defensive backs.
Matt Hahn (Senior OL/DL) – Matt is an anchor for the Hawks on both the offensive and defensive line.
“We expect our athletes and entire coaching staff to get better each and every day,” said Holley head coach Wil Prince. “This will be a transition to eight-man football, but our players and community have come together to move in a great direction.”
Holley begins the season with a game against Marcus Whitman. Be sure to check back for stats and info after the game!
