Here is my second edition of Power Rankings for the 2018 local HS Baseball season.

1. BATAVIA

Despite a tough one-run loss to Aquinas last night, the Blue Devils have played good baseball thus far in the Monroe County League. However, Batavia has plenty of tough games down the stretch and will have to prove themselves in the coming weeks.

2. PEMBROKE +2

Thus far, Pembroke’s only loss in the GR League came to Lyndonville last week. The Dragons have shown an elite ability both at the plate and on the mound, which will make them a tough out come postseason time.

3. CAL-MUM +7

After beginning the season 0-6 (including four losses down south), Cal-Mum rattled off five in a row – before losing two-straight. It’s been a roller coaster of a year thus far for the Red Raiders, but I truly think they’re depth in the lineup makes one of the best teams in the area.

4. LE ROY -2

Le Roy struggled last week, but seems to have regained their footing with two-straight wins. The Knights have proven to be a team which will rely on supreme defense in order to beat the better teams on their schedule down the stretch.

5. ALEXANDER +2

Alexander endured a rocky start to the season, but has since righted the ship with three-straight wins – two of which coming over Lyndonville, and the other over Notre Dame. The Trojans have a strong 1-2 punch at the top of their rotation and have been getting the big hits as of late.

6. NOTRE DAME -1

An undefeated start to the season has since tapered off for the Irish, who have lost four-straight games. A sudden lack of offense has killed ND as of late.

7. LYNDONVILLE +2

Lyndonville has posted wins over Attica, and Pembroke this season, but has also suffered losses to Notre Dame, Alexander (twice), and Holley. The Tigers have been up-and-down thus far and until they steady things they will remain near the middle of my rankings.

8. ATTICA -5

Attica has suffered losses to Notre Dame, Lyndonville, and Pembroke this season. They have a long way to go if they hope to climb their way back up towards the top of my rankings.

9. OAKFIELD -3

Oakfield recorded a big win over Alexander early in the year, but has since fallen in each of their big games since. Wins over Holley, and Byron-Bergen have kept their head above water in the rankings, however.

10. HOLLEY +1

Holley did beat Lyndonville on April 30, but fell to Oakfield two days ago. A good sign for the Hawks has been their ability to play teams close, even the tougher teams on their schedule.

11. BYRON-BERGEN -3

Byron-Bergen has failed to consistently score runs this year. They must wake up the bats if they hope to win games down the stretch.

12. PAVILION

Although they earned a big rivalry win over York this week, Pavilion has just the one victory on the year.
