Karson and her teammates could be in for a big rebound year next year. Here is her profile:
Karson Richenberg – Byron-Bergen High School – Girls Basketball
5’10” – Junior
Career Highlight #1 – “Scoring 24 points vs RCMCS to bring us into sectionals.”
Career Highlight #2 – “Scoring 12 points in the second half vs Lyndonville – leading us to a win.”
Career Highlight #3 – “Having a great game vs Elba – defeating them 55-46.”
Favorite thing about High School Sports: “Making memories with teammates who became family while playing sports that I love, and being inspired by great coaches.”
Most memorable moment in High School Sports career: “Winning soccer sectionals in 2014 and setting records as a team.”
Plans after High School: “Attend a four year college and major in Forensic Psychology.”
AB: Coming off a few consecutive seasons in which the B-B Girls Basketball team endured incredible success, what was it like going through a bit of a rough patch this season?
KR: It inspired my team to work harder in the offseason so we can improve for next season.
AB: Do you feel the tough times you went through as a team made you stronger athletes?
KR: I believe the tough times did make us stronger athletes because we want to work harder so we won’t be put in this situation next season.
AB: What did you and your teammates do in order to remain hungry, game-in, game-out this season – especially down the stretch when you knew the league title was out of reach?
KR: To keep the team motivated we continued to focus on the fact that each time we stepped on the court, it was another opportunity to improve – and with hard work we could win.
AB: Next season, what do you expect from your team?
KR: Next season I expect my team to have success having already played together and only graduating two seniors this year.
AB: Finally, what do you hope to accomplish next season?
KR: Next season we hope to have a winning season and even work to get a league title.
