Le Roy has plenty of talent returning to their roster this year, after a Semifinals appearance in ’16-’17. They hope to experience further success during ’17-’18 – as they enter their campaign under new leadership. Here is a brief preview of their upcoming slate:

Le Roy Oatkan Knights

Head Coach: Matt Weinman

Record Last Season: 14-9

Key Players

Canyon Roster (Senior) – Canyon has been a major contributor for LR since his sophomore season, and will likely put his best foot forward during his final year in black and red.

Luke Stella (Senior) – Luke is another Knight heading into his final season, and should be a force both offensively, and defensively for Le Roy.

Reece Tresco (Junior) – Reece bloomed early as a sophomore last season, and should expect to further his success in ’17-’18.

Coach’s Outlook

“We don’t talk much about wins and losses, we have a philosophy that we focus on improving each day. Our team has certain team goals, and personal goals that we will strive towards throughout the season.

We want our guys in a position where they can succeed, so the players will each have a role that they know and understand.”

– Le Roy HC Matt Weinman

The Knights went through a bit of a roller coaster at the head coach position last year. This season, with that now figured out, I expect a more-consistent Le Roy squad to take the floor on a nightly basis. Stay tuned for further coverage of Le Roy Basketball.
