The Batavia Blue Devils suffered their second-consecutive heart breaking loss Tuesday night as they fell to Livonia at the buzzer by a final score of 46-44.  This is following a 52-51 loss to Greece Arcadia this past Friday in which the GW bucket was scored in the last 15 seconds of play.

As they did against Arcadia, Batavia once again struggled to shoot from beyond the arc on Tuesday (14%) and from the charity stripe (50%) which led to a struggle for points.  The Blue Devils lack of scoring output is starting to become a worrisome trend as it is tough to pinpoint any reliable scorer that can be counted on night in and night out.

Batavia desperately needs some of their veteran players to step up to the task of putting points.

Leading the way in this for Batavia were the two big men inside, Jake Schrider and Malachi Chenault who had 15 and 13 points respectively.  Beyond those 2 no Batavia player eclipsed 5 points.

For Livonia Rick Allen knocked down 7 threes for 21 points and the GW shot was nailed by Jon Mohnkern.

Batavia will have HFL coming into town Friday night and if they want to stop this skid and have any success going forward they will need a consistent scoring option to emerge and some three pointers to fall.

Also, look for HFL’s Tommy Eastman this Friday night – who is one of the top players within Section V Class A.
