Batavia has been dominant recently and they continued that trend as they went into Penn Yan and won 50-20 on Friday night in order to improve their record to 5-0.

The story of the game was once again Greg Mruczek who continued to impress as he throw a single-game school record 6 touchdown passes, going 12/17 for 287 yards through the air and rushing 10 times for 67 yards and another touchdown – giving him 7 scores on the night. Mruczek has been absolutely dominant at times this year and when he plays how he did tonight, Batavia likely won’t be beaten.

Ryan Hogan continued to solidify himself as the number one target for Mruczek catching 6 passes for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Hogan has seemed to be unstoppable in recent weeks as he has been able to get open with ease against opposing defenses.

Ray Leach had yet another standout performance rushing for 52 yards on 4 carries, making 8 tackles on defense, including a FF, FR, and a sack and he caught a touchdown pass of his own.  Leach has emerged in recent weeks with the absence of Anthony Gallo and provided excellent play on both sides of the ball.

The workhouse Dom Mogavero ran 19 times for 100 yards and Trever Sherwood and Malachi Cheanault each added a touchdown catch for the Devils in the 50 point outburst.

The way the Devils are playing right now on both sides of the ball, opposing teams are going to struggle to have any chance of stopping them.  Wayne will try their luck next week at Batavia’s homecoming, as Batavia is now just 2 wins away from running the regular season table.
