Here is a brief preview and prediction for tonight’s NYSPHSAA Football Class B Far West Regional matchup between Batavia (10-0) and Cheektowaga (9-1):

MATCHUP AT A GLANCE
If history decided this game it would undoubtedly go to the Warriors, as they’ve had the Blue Devils’ number in recent seasons’ past. Cheektowaga defeated Batavia in the 2014, and 2015 NYSPHSAA Class B Far West Regional game.
The Warriors are a Section VI powerhouse and won’t be easy to overcome tonight, but Batavia is the better team on paper and they have the game’s best player in RB Ray Leach. Although Cheektowaga fans would argue the game’s best player is their quarterback KeShone Beal, Leach’s impact on both sides of the ball is immeasurable and I believe he will prove his worth in this one.
If the Warriors can limit the Batavia offense they will have a chance to pull this one out. However, if they allow the Blue Devils to score points at will I’m not sure that Cheektowaga can keep up offensively.
