The season couldn’t have started any better for the Oakfield/Elba Football team, who put it on Perry/Mt. Morris yesterday. OAE began the game by seizing a 27-0 lead at halftime, and despite a minor comeback from the Yellow Jackets, they held on to win by a final score of 40-30.

Collin O’Halloran led the OAE offense in the opening day win, as the RB totaled 116 yards to go with 2 TDs. Colton Dillon and Gage Dieterle each added a rushing score of their own, while Dillon and Ty Mott also contributed a pick-six a piece.

“We preached during training camp to focus on the little details and just do our jobs,” said OAE head coach Mike Cintorino following the game. “I think we showed we can compete in this league.”

With the win, OAE starts the year 1-0.
