The Pembroke Basketball team has been growing throughout the past four seasons, but this could be the year where they finally reach their fullest potential. Here is a brief preview of their upcoming slate:

Pembroke Dragons

Head Coach: Matt Shay

Record Last Season: 16-5

Key Players

Reid Miano (Senior) – Reid will be the top-offensive force for the Dragons in what will be his 4th year as a varsity player.

Zach von Kramer (Senior) – This is also Zach’s 4th year on varsity. He will provide strength and scoring inside and out.

Lucas Kohorst (Senior) – Lucas gives Pembroke added length on the interior as a 3rd year varsity player.

Jamil Marable Jr. (Senior) – Jamil is stepping into the starting point guard role this season as a senior.

Coach’s Outlook

“We have high expectations this year. We are very blessed to have a large group of seniors who have a ton of starts and experience.

Obviously we would like to improve on our season last year, but at the same time we have really stepped up our non-league schedule so that we are better prepared for sectionals. We want to compete for the league and sectional title.”

– Pembroke HC Matt Shay

The Dragons should be the best team in the GR League, and will likely be a favorite to win a Section V Title as well. Stay tuned for further coverage of GR League Basketball.
