This weekend, at the Genesee Region, Livingston County, and Monroe County Track Championships, a list of local athletes walked away as double-winners – setting themselves up nicely for Sectionals later on this week.

At the GR Championships, on the girls side, Sophia Zwolinski did her best to help Pembroke to yet another GR League Title, sweeping the hurdle competitions with a time of 16.5 in the 100 H, and 1:08.06 in the 400 H. For Byron-Bergen, Reanne Dressler won both the Pole Vault (10’7″), and the 400 M (1:01.27), while Olivia George of Alexander finished first in the Long Jump (16’3.5″), and 100 M (12.89).

For the boys, Brandon Burke led all local athletes on Saturday as a triple-winner – finishing first in the High Jump (6’6″), Long Jump (21’7″), and Triple Jump (44′). Lucas Kohorst of Pembroke finished the day as a double-winner, winning the 400 M (52.69), and 800 M (2:09.28) – while his teammate Jon Doud joined him with wins in the 110 Hurdles (17.27), and 400 Hurdles (1:02.4). Rounding out the list of multi-winners at the GR Championships was Wheatland-Chili’s Dylan Vogel – who won the 3200 M (10:28.67), and 3000 M Steeplechase (10:30.04).

The Pembroke Girls finished as team champions, as did the Oakfield Boys.

At the Livingston County Track and Field Championships, also on Saturday, just two local athletes finished on top of their respective events – as Le Roy’s Courtney Kacur won the girls 1500 M (5:22.36), while Pavilion’s Morgan Adams won the Pole Vault (10’1″). The Letchworth girls and the Bath-Haverling Boys won the team titles.

Finally, at the Monroe County Championships, Batavia’s Butch Ray was the lone Blue Devil to finish as a multi-winner – in both the Shot Put (52’6.25″), and Discus (145’24”). As a team, Batavia finished 10th overall on the girls side, and 8th on the boys.
