Career Highlight #1 – Winning the Sectional Championship this season.
Career Highlight #2 – Being selected to the Ronald McDonald All-Star team.
Career Highlight #3 – Being selected MVP of the Sectional Tournament this season.

Favorite thing about High School Sports: “Being able to be part of a team and playing with my friends at a competitive level.”

Most memorable moment in High School Sports career: “Three consecutive sectional championship titles beginning with a sectional title in the 400m dash in track in the Spring of 2015, followed by a sectional title in soccer in the Fall of 2015, followed by a sectional title in basketball in the Winter of 2015.”

Plans after High School: “Attend SUNY Geneseo; Major in Accounting; Play college soccer and perhaps, pursue the possibility of participating in a second collegiate sport.”

AB: You had quite a career at Wheatland – finishing with a sectional championship. Is that what you were striving for all these years?

TC: Absolutely.  Wheatland-Chili has never been known for being a school with a strong girls basketball team and so, from the very beginning, I have always wanted to be able to prove that Wheatland-Chili does have the ability to play and be competitive in this sport.

AB: If so, what does it feel like, knowing you reached the mountain top on your way out?

TC: It feels great, especially knowing how hard and long Coach Grimes, my teammates and myself have been working to get to this point.  All of our years struggling to break 500 and all of the frustrating losses finally payed off with that one victory we’d been aspiring towards for years.  Earning the title my senior year was the perfect way to end my basketball career at Wheatland, and finally proved that we were a team to be reckoned with.

AB: Your sister was on this year’s team, and she played a big part in your win over Prattsburgh. How proud have you been of her in the way she has progressed as a player?

TC: I am very proud of how hard Lindsey works both on and off the court.  She plays the game with great intensity and her knowledge of the game and where she should be on the court is well-beyond her years.  She has progressed through-out the year to become a key player that Coach looks to come in from the bench and help out in critical situations.

AB: Does your sister remind you of yourself at all as a player? Or is she her own player all together?

TC: Lindsey plays the game a lot like I do in that she is always hustling and competing to the highest degree.  She has great vision, a motor that never stops and she always puts the team first.

AB: Finally, what will you remember most when looking back on your time spent at Wheatland?

TC: Most of all, I will remember the amazing Coaches that I have had the opportunity to play for, the great teammates that I have competed with, and winning three sectional titles, two of which were made even more special because my younger sister was right next to me, helping to secure the victories.
