The Attica and Pembroke Football programs are expected to undergo coaching changes this season, as Blue Devils head coach Rob Cusmano, and Dragons head coach Ray Stoldt are expected to be OUT, while an old face is rumored to be returning.

For Attica moving forward, 2016 JV coach Caleb Sabatino is expected to move into the driver’s seat for the Varsity squad in 2017. According to now former head coach Rob Cusmano, health issues are the reason for his decision to step down as HC. The Attica school district had no comment upon my request.

In Pembroke, according to league sources, 2016 head coach Ray Stoldt has decided to take a step back and move back down to sit at the helm of the JV squad after health issues of his own forced him from the field last season. Taking his place is said to be Justin Loeber – a Varsity assistant for the past several seasons – along with former Pembroke head coach Dick Diminuco, who sources say will help the Dragons’ as Loeber’s offensive coordinator. Diminuco is a Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame, and also a former head coach at Albion, and Alden – where he won over 200 games and numerous Section VI Titles. The Pembroke school district has not responded to my request for comment on the expected coaching change.

Each move is BIG news for each program, as coach Cusmano had continued the longstanding tradition of winning at Attica throughout the past several seasons, and coach Diminuco brings with him years of knowledge which would be valuable to any first-year head coach.

Stay tuned as I await official confirmation concerning the situation in Pembroke.
