Using the efforts of Joe Aguglia, the Attica Blue Devils’ Baseball team was able to move past a scrappy Newfane team by a final score of 9-8. Aguglia started the game on the mound for Attica, and earned the win, while also coming through with a three-run bomb in the 4th inning which helped his cause.

In addition to Aguglia, Sam Cusmano also took the mound – in the seventh inning – and earned the save after shutting down Newfane with a scoreless frame.

Matt Travis and Owen Thompson added to Aguglia’s fine day offensively, as Travis finished 2/3 with a triple and 2 runs scored, and Thompson added a two-run double.

Attica is now 1-0 and will face Byron-Bergen on Friday.
