The Attica Basketball team has quite the run of success within the GR League the past several seasons. However, losing the core of last year’s group to graduation, the Blue Devils will be forced to work their way through a transitional campaign. Here is a brief preview of their upcoming slate:

Attica Blue Devils

Head Coach: Rob Crowley

Record Last Season: 12-8

Key Players

Mike Donohue (Senior) – Mike really began to come on toward the end of last season, but after suffering a broken wrist, was forced to missed the stretch run, and sectionals. He will be an important player for the Devils this year.

Dawson Nelson (Junior) – Dawson started last year as a sophomore, and provides strength inside, as well as the ability to shoot from beyond the arc.

Devon Henderson (Junior) – Devon was called up to varsity late last year, and is hoping to improve his inside presence on both ends of the floor this season.

Coach’s Outlook

“This season is full of opportunities for the young men on our team. We lost 2 four year starters, one 3 year varsity player and our starting point guard from last season, and with that being said, these kids are excited that it is now their turn.

(Our team) is young but ready to step up and meet (their) challenges head on. I expect us to be in every game we play this year and I hope we can continue to develop as a group of young men. If we continue to grow throughout the season I think we could be right there with every other team in the league.”

– Attica HC Rob Crowley

Attica has been a favorite to win a Divisional Title the past few seasons. This season, however, they will have to prove their worth if they hope to remain as a contender. Stay tuned for further coverage of GR League Basketball.
