The Attica Football team continued to impress on Saturday afternoon, defeating Elba/Byron-Bergen by a final score of 27-6.
A game that was never all that close, the Lancers were unable to find their rhythm offensively throughout the duration of the contest – leaving the Blue Devils to seize control early, and score often.
Leading the way for Attica in victory was Hunter McCulloch, who was returning from an injury that had kept him out in previous weeks. The quick, elusive running back finished with 28 carries for 150 yards to go with touchdown runs of 57 and 9 yards.
Alex Piechocki also had a fine night for the Blue Devils, as the strong running back finished the day with 60 yards on 14 carries, including a 6 yard and 2 yard touchdown. Damian Marchetti rounded out the top-performers for Attica, as he finished with 6 carries for 59 yards.
Defensively for the Blue Devils, Kyle Zawadski set the pace with 13 tackles, and Cody D’Arconte added 8 of his own to go with an interception.
Richard Flores scored the lone touchdown for the Lancers.
With the victory, Attica is now 4-0 within the GR League and will take on fellow unbeaten Notre Dame next week – with the winner taking the GR Crown.
Stay tuned as it should be a fun week.
Elba is now 3-2 with the loss.
