The Batavia Bulldawgs opened their season with a strong showing in the Beginner division (6/7 year old). The Bulldawgs were led by a strong defensive showing by the entire Bulldawg team holding the Tri-Town Trojans out of the end zone the whole game. Offensively the Bulldawgs were able to cross the goal line three separate times during the game. It was a great start to the 2016 season for both teams!

Next game was the Mini division (8/9 year old) where the defending 2015 NOFA Mini Division Champions, Bulldawgs continued its strong performance with winning 33-6 over the Tir-Town Mini team. Behind a strong offensive line the Bulldawgs were able to run the ball effectively the entire game while their defense made it tough for the Tri-Town Trojans offense. It was a great team effort all the way around.

The JV division (10/11 year old) made it exciting for the fans. In a triple overtime play, the Bulldawgs were able to cap off a 20-14 win. This was a hard fought game from players from both teams in some grueling heat. After the Bulldawgs lead the entire game, the Tri-Town Trojans tied the game up in the final minute of regulation play to send the game into overtime. After exchanging some great defensive stands from both teams, the Bulldawgs were able to find the endzone one last time for the win.

To close out the end of gameday, the Varsity division (12/13 year old) battled not only a strong Tri-Town team but a the weather. After a weather delay holding up the second half of play, the Bulldawgs eventually fell to the Trojans 20-0 in a hard fought game. The young varsity Bulldawgs will look to bounce back in week 2.

Throughout the day, the Batavia CheerDawgs did an amazing job cheering on their Bulldawgs and performed great half time performances for the fans!

For week 2 of the season, the Bulldawgs will be home again Saturday, August 27th, at Lions Park hosting Roy-Hart. Unfortunately, there will be no Beginner game this week. Game times will kickoff with the Mini division at 10AM, followed by the JV division at 12PM, and closing out the day the Varsity division at 2PM. Please come out and support the Bulldawgs
