The Batavia Cheerleading team performed exceptionally well at Sectionals this past weekend, placing 3/9 behind Geneva and Aquinas. In comparison to their performance at Fall Sectionals, Batavia scored 100 points higher this time around and really impressed their coaches along the way.

“I am so proud of these girls,” said co-coach Stacy Squire following the competition. “At previous competitions we have cracked under pressure and dropped stunts, but this last week of practice we had focused on confidence. Having confidence and showing it to the judges was everything to us. Today when we went out there I could feel that it was a good day. Once we hit our switch ups, we were on. We have been rebuilding the program the last few years so placing third feels amazing. I feel that we can only go up from here in the seasons to come.”

Congratulations to the Blue Devils!!
