Here are the recipients of the Batavia’s Best 2016-2017 HS Swimming/Diving Awards:
Boys Co-Swimmers of the Year
Alex Kunes (Attica) and Chris Lemley (Notre Dame) – Both Chris and Alex mirrored each other’s success throughout their respective HS careers. Both completing this season with a trip to the NYSPHSAA Championships, I felt both were equally-worthy of this award.
Girls Co-Swimmers of the Year
Madi LaGrou (Oakfield) and Lauren Hume (Alexander) – Madi and Lauren both set two meet records at the GRNO Championships this season, and in doing so, each proved themselves as the top-female swimmers during the winter season.
Boys Diver of the Year
Ethan Stroud (Alexander) – Ethan finished fourth at the GR League Championships – which was the highest finish for a local boys diver this season.
Girls Diver of the Year
Alexis Meisner (Attica) – Alexis was the top-finisher of all local female divers at the GR League Championships this past season.
