Batavia’s Best Spring Sports Awards – 2016 – Now accepting nominations from fans

The process of handing out our Spring Sports Awards has begun. Starting today, we will now be accepting nominations for those who you believe are worthy of recognition in the following categories:

 

Boys Spring Athlete of the Year – Top boys athlete from the spring season

Girls Spring Athlete of the Year – Top girls athlete from the spring season

Boys Spring Underclassman of the Year – Top boys sophomore or freshman during the spring sports season

Girls Spring Underclasswoman of the Year – Top girls sophomore or freshman during the spring sports season

Boys Spring Coach of the Year – Top boys coach during the spring sports season

Girls Spring Coach of the Year – Top girls coach during the spring sports season

The Diamond Dinger Award – Top hitter in all of HS Baseball

King of the Hill – Top pitcher in all of HS Baseball

The Hallmark Hands Award – Top fielder in all of HS Baseball

The Silver Swinger Award – Top hitter in all of HS Softball

Queen of the Circle – Top pitcher in all of HS Softball

The Titanium Tee Award – Top golfer during the spring season

The Ruby Racket Award – Top tennis player during the spring season

Boys #TrackNation Award – Top boys Track and Field Athlete during the spring season

Girls #TrackNation Award – Top girls Track and Field Athlete during the spring season

All-Batavia’s Best Teams for all Spring Sports – Top athletes in each sport during the spring season

  4. Meghan Mietlicki for girl spring underclasswoman of the year. Cal-Mum softballs sophomore catcher who went .500 on the season and was selected as a league all star, on the all tournament team, and on the all greater Rochester team. Helped the team to a sectional title, regional title, and finalist in NYS.

  9. Girls Spring Athlete of Year/Silver Swinger/Queen of Circle-Ally Uberty, LeRoy Girls Spring Underclass.-Erin Cappotelli LeRoy

    Uberty hit .548 with 5 HR’s and 37 RBI, along with 19 extra base hits. In the cirlce she had an ERA of 1.22 and struck our 263 batters, leading LeRoy to the B2 Sectional title, where she was named MVP of the tournament. also named 1st team All-Greater Rochester and 4th team All-State.

    Cappotelli hit .526 with 4 HR’s and 30 RBI. LCAA All-Star, 6th team All State, B2 All tournament team.

  10. Meghan Mietlicki-underclasswoman of the year. Meghan is a gifted athlete! She is the CalMum varsity softball catcher. Meghan hits for power and is a strong defensive player. She is a humble team player.

    First ever sectional title for Elba
    Underclass boy – Ben Pflaumer
    Lowest average on Elba golf team the last three years in a row.
    Titanium award -Henry Pflaumer
    For a low round in GR of 33 and a hole in one.

  13. Mitchell Hale (Oakfield) for too spring athelete Of the year and diamond dinger award for top hitter. He again made the NYS record books for the second year in a row for batting averages, etc. He was named Genesee Region player of the year. He broke the school record and Section 5 record for hitting.

  14. Madison LaGrou – Girls underclassman of the year. Lead Oakfield-Alabama as a sophomore to sectional finals. Batted .500, 150 strike out, 2.38 era.

  15. Hannah LaGrou- Silver Swinger award. 553 batting average, led league in RBI’s and tied or home runs.
