The Cal-Mum Softball team has started the season on quite the run, as the Raiders improved to 5-0 yesterday with a 9-0 win over Geneseo.

“We’ve hit the ball well and we’re happy where we are right now,” said Cal-Mum head coach Dan Dickens following the game.

For C-M in the win over Geneseo, Andrea Coyle paced the offense from start to finish, recording a 3/4 day which included a 3-run triple during the first inning. Sami Bickford also had a fine day with two singles, while Grace Walker’s 2-run triple in the second sealed the deal for the Raiders. Hannah Rubinrott got the win in the circle, allowing just two hits while striking out 5.

For the Blue Devils in the loss, pitcher Jessica Ruskauff allowed seven hits to Cal-Mum and struck out 4. She also went 2/3 at the plate. Geneseo is now 2-1 and has another big league matchup vs Le Roy this afternoon at LR at 4:30 pm.

For C-M, they will await Bath-Haverling on Friday.

“We will be tested on Friday,” continued Dickens. “Bath is an excellent team who represented Section V in the State Tournament last season.”
