The Cal-Mum Volleyball team overcame a tough challenge in the Avon Lady Braves in 4 sets this past Friday night (11-25; 25-20; 25-23; 25-23).
Avon was led by Sarah Kuhn who had 31 assists, Makaila Heath who recorded 17 kills, Anna Eichhorn who had 4 blocks, and Mary Northrup who added 19 digs
Cal-Mum was led by Chelsea Riggi who totaled 30 assists, 4 aces and 14 digs, while Laura WIlcox added 7 Kills and 2 blocks, Andrea Coyle contributed 11 kills and 8 digs, and Isabella Slocum added 2.5 blocks and 4 kills.
With the win, Cal-Mum wraps up the regular season with a 15-3 record and Avon finishes 7-10.
Not only was it a big win for Cal-Mum on Friday, it was also a win against Cancer as it was the Avon/Cal-Mum Dig Pick night to benefit Breast Cancer research. Through the efforts and hard work of the Cal-Mum Booster Club, parents, and players and the Avon, parents and players, the game raised over $830.00.
Congratulations to the Braves and Lady Raiders on a job well done.
