Last night the Elba Boys Basketball team defeated rival Byron-Bergen in what ended up being a massive blowout. Unable to penetrate the Lancers’ zone from beginning to end on Friday, the Bees struggled from the field throughout the game and ended up walking away with a 61-33 loss.
Conversely, Elba was on fire from all over the court during all four quarters last night as both Henry Pflaumer and John Hochmuth really led the way for their team. Pflaumer was the top-scorer for the game with 25 points (including 7/9 from 3-point range), while Hochmuth scored 19 points, including a three-pointer which beat the buzzer at the end of the first.

The win was a big one for the Lancers who were coming off their first loss of the season to Attica on Thursday. Perhaps the Bees just caught Elba at the wrong time.
For the Bees, Colin Noeth led the offense with 10 points, while Brandon Burke scored 9. B-B only managed 12 points the entire first half.
