Key Players: The Fighting Irish Defense (Notre Dame)

Following a sub-par performance a week ago, the Finney Falcons are set to take on the Fighting Irish in a Saturday matchup that is likely to display quality football throughout. Coming off of a 14-point defeat to Nichols Academy last week, the Falcons will have plenty to play for in this one, and will  likely be hungry for a bounce-back victory.

Finney enters their Week 5 match up with the Irish at an even record of 2-2, with both wins coming versus GR opponents this season. Defeating Alexander and Holley in the early going, the Falcons were able to get off to a great 2-1 start before their loss last week.

The Finney offense has been fairly impressive so far this year, and has been the driving force behind the team’s success after four games. Putting up 20, 38, 12, and 28 points over the beginning of their schedule, Notre Dame’s stingy defense will be put to the test once again and will have to put forth another big performance.

Despite my best efforts, I was unable to find an abundance of information on the Falcons, thus leading to perhaps my worst scouting report of all time.

Regardless, I knew who I wanted in this game even before I began my unsuccessful research of Finney. After consecutive wins in which they stepped up defensively time after time, I believe ND will be able to thwart this Falcon offense and win the game as a result.

Give me the Irish fighting their way to a clean victory.

Prediction: ND 20 Finney 15
