Over the weekend the GR Swimming Championships took place, and several local swimmers finished with notable performances. For starters, Notre Dame’s Chris Lemley was awarded Swimmer of the Meet honors in compliment of Nicole Gelb of HAC who received the award on the Girls side.

In addition to SOTM honors, Gelb also set meet records in the Girls 50 freestyle, and the Girls 100 back, while combining with three of her teammates (Lila Campbell, Kit Taylor, and Florianna Milazzo) to set the record in the Girls 200 Free Relay.

Along with Gelb, a few local swimmers also set meet records over the weekend as Jordan Hardie of Attica did so in the Girls 100 free, Madi LaGrou in the Girls 200 IM, and Attica’s Alex Kunes in the Boys 200 IM.

Complete results of the GRL Swimming Championships can be found on the Section Swimming V website: http://www.section5swim.com/ .

Congrats to all local swimmers on a fantastic league season! Good luck in Sectionals.
