Division 1

Alexander – Overall (6-4-1); League (2-3-0)

With a six-day break after their most recent game against Notre Dame, the Trojans looked to keep their momentum going forward.

On Oct. 1, Alexander traveled to Notre Dame in a cross-divisional match-up that was one for the ages. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in regulation. Tied 0-0, Alexander’s Stephany McBride was able to score just 1 minute into extra time to seal the game for the Trojans.

Still sitting in fourth place in Division 1, the Trojans look to move up in the standings with a division game against Holley on Oct. 7.

Pembroke – Overall (4-6-2); League (0-5-1)

As we enter the backstretch of the regular season, Pembroke seems to be hitting their stride.

The Dragons took on Lyndonville on Oct. 1 and were able to jump on the Tigers right from the opening whistle. Matty Neurohr was able to jumpstart the offense by scoring just one minute into the game. Quinn Audsley followed closely behind with goals in the third and tenth minute respectively for the Dragons. Jessie Weaver made 3 saves for Pembroke as they coasted to a 3-0 win.

Next up, the Dragons welcomed A-school St. Mary’s on Oct. 3.  The Dragons were able to beat the much bigger St. Mary’s school 4-1.

Pembroke next welcomes Bryon-Bergen and Alexander on Oct. 7 and Oct. 9.

Attica – Overall (7-3-2); League (3-1-2)

The Devils have had a nice little break and have not played since Sept. 29.

Still sitting tied for second on Division 1, Attica will get back into action on Oct. 7 against Kendall.

Byron-Bergen – Overall (8-3-2); League (3-2-2)

Despite losing two this past week, The Bees still are tied for second place in Division 1.

Coming off a dominating performance against Elba, B-B headed to Wheatland-Chili to face the Division 2 leader, Wildcats. The Bees got down early and never could get anything going, losing 3-0.

After the disappointing loss against W-C, the Bees had to regroup for Division 1 leader Kendall. The Eagles scored 2 goals in the first 10 minutes and held on to win the game 2-1.

With the loss to Kendall, it is almost impossible for B-B to win their division, but they can still hold on for second and gain valuable Sectional points in their remaining games.

Division 2

Elba – Overall (1-11-0); League (1-4-0)

What seems to be lost season for the Lancers, they continue to struggle finding the back of the net.

After losing 8-0 to Byron-Bergen, Elba had to deal with Division 1 leader Kendall. In a microcosm of their season, the Lancers dropped another game 9-0. Unable to play constant defense and score regularly, the Lancers season may be over.

Notre Dame – Overall (3-7-1); League (2-2-0)

With what was a league-wide break; the Irish only had one game in the past week.

They took on Alexander at home on Oct. 1 and in a game that went into overtime, the Irish could not score.

Next up for Notre Dame is a rematch game against divisional opponent, Oakfield on Oct. 7.

Oakfield – Overall (2-11-0); League (2-3-0)

The Hornets continue to struggle as the season nears its conclusion.

On Oct. 1, Oakfield traveled to Holley where they were unable to get anything going and dropped another game 2-0. They then moved on to non-league foe, Warsaw. The Hornets were able to hang around in the first half only down 1, but in the second, the Tigers were able to pull away, beating Oakfield 4-1.

Next up for the Hornets is a home match-up against Notre Dame on Oct. 7. The Hornets previously beat the Irish at their place earlier in the season.
