In order to secure their top spot in Divison I, the Alexander Girls Basketball team was able to overcome Elba last night by a final score of 57-47. Olivia George recorded the big night for the Trojans, as she scored 18 points to lead all scorers, while her teammate Jayna Wright was also in double-figures with 10 points of her own. For Elba, Emily Reynolds scored 16 points, while Leah Bezon was the only other Lancer with double-digit points as she dropped 11.
Ahead by only three points at halftime on Tuesday, the Trojans used a huge third quarter in which they outscored the Lancers 16-8 in order to extend their lead – and eventually win the game.
