Le Roy, Cal-Mum, and Wheatland-Chili Girls Soccer all advance in Sectionals over the weekend

Three local Girls Soccer teams advanced to the semifinal round of Sectionals over the weekend, as #4 Le Roy defeated #5 Marcus Whitman in Class B2, #8 Wheatland-Chili dropped undefeated #1 Fillmore in Class D1, and #2 Cal-Mum moved past #7 Addison in Class C1. Le Roy will now face top-seeded Wayland-Cohocton on Tuesday night, Wheatland-Chili will take on #5 York on Wednesday night, and Cal-Mum will join Le Roy on Tuesday vs #11 Williamson.

Scoring for Cal-Mum in their 4-1 win over Addison were Claudia Haut (unassisted) Adrianna Molisani (Autumn Jeffery), and Jessica Garland twice (Lily Parnell and Claudia Haut). Kierra Duvall scored the lone goal for Addison.

For Wheatland-Chili in their 2-0 victory against Fillmore, Hannah Callaghan (Alexis Combs) and Morgan Franklin (Cassie Parker) recorded goals for the Wildcats. Abbie Berl, who was in net for W-C, did not have to make a save the entire game, while her counterpart – Caylen Bedow – made 10 saves on 12 shots for the Eagles.

In defeating Marcus Whitman 3-0, Le Roy’s Amy Lowe (Abby Dambra), Bri Hill (Stephany Samis), and Erin Cappotelli (Maya Iburi-Mather) each found the net – while Jamie Englerth stopped 3 M-W shots to preserve the shutout.
