At a glance:

The Le Roy football team enters Friday’s contest having lost their previous two to Bath and Hornell. In desperate need of a victory to keep their postseason hopes alive, I’m sure this rivalry game will provide extra motivation considering the added implications for the Knights.
The Red Raiders dropped their first game of the season last week to Avon, and will look to rebound in this week’s affair with the Knights. It is important that C-M will host this game, as I’m certain the crowd will be massive – providing extra juice for the home squad.

Players to watch:

Le Roy

RB/LB Nick Egeling

Egeling is clearly the star of this Le Roy Football team, as he has proven week, after week thus far. Look for him to have a big game on both sides of the ball against a tough Cal-Mum team this week.

QB Josh Laurie

Laurie compliments Egeling very well offensively and will need to put forth a quality performance in order to keep pace with the Red Raiders’ impressive attack. Also, I believe the passing game will be increasingly important for the Knights this week.

WR Reed Kacur

Kacur is the most-underrated of the Le Roy key players. If he can find a way to put his stamp on this game, it will surely benefit Le Roy’s hopes of walking away with a victory.

Cal-Mum

QB Nick Harmon

Harmon has been up-and-down this season, but must return to form this week against a stout Le Roy defense.

RB Chris Hinkley

Hinkley may have trouble finding open lanes tomorrow night, but if he is able to run free it will give the Red Raiders a leg up offensively.

K Josh Roides

I have a funny feeling the kicking game will prove important in this game.

Prediction:

With all of the history involved in this rivalry, as well as the talent on both sides of the field, it is incredibly difficult to decide which team will walk away victorious on Friday night. However, since this section calls for a prediction, a prediction is what I will give you.

In terms of over skill on the football field, I believe that Cal-Mum may be a bit deeper, while the Knights may have the most-talented player in Nick Egeling. Which side will win out?

I believe it will be the away team.

Give me Le Roy in this one.
