The Le Roy Football team pulled off a fantastic comeback last night vs Attica in the Class C Quarterfinals – eventually defeating the Blue Devils by a final score of 20-19.

If you’d like to find out exactly what happened yesterday, head over to our Batavia’s Best LIVE Blog from last night, where we provided minute-by-minute updates from the Knights victory.

Statistically for Le Roy in their great win, Nick Egeling once again led the way for his team with 115 yards rushing and a touchdown on 17 carries. QB Josh Laurie also contributed strongly with 113 passing yards and a touchdown as well as an interception and fumble recovery defensively. LR’s Reed Kacur caught the Laurie touchdown pass and finished with 3 catches for 79 yards, while Nate Flint rounded out the leaders for the Knights with 5 carries for 33 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively for Le Roy, Anthony Natrigo and Ben Piazza each racked up close to 10 tackles a piece.

For Attica in defeat, Alex Piechocki had a fine game on the ground – amassing 198 yards rushing on 27 carries, including 3 touchdowns. He also had 6 tackles defensively, while Kyle Zawadski led the team with 9.

Congratulations to the Knights who now move on to face ER/Gananda in the second round. The Bombers won their first round contest by forfeit.

Also, congrats to the Attica Football team on a fine season that certainly didn’t end the way they had intended. Regardless, with a GR League Title in tow, as well as several big wins along the way, this team has plenty to be proud of.

Stay tuned for continued coverage of Le Roy’s second round matchup beginning next week.
